Girdwood.com Website

The OTC team thinks their home town of Girdwood, Alaska is a pretty special place. Sadly, until a few years ago, there wasn’t a single online presence that showcased our beloved town and provided useful information to residents and potential visitors.

Having identified the need for a website for all things Girdwood, we got together with a few like-minded individuals to design one. The vision was for a go-to resource that would serve locals and visitors alike.

Today, not only is girdwood.com number one in Google with a growing total of over 4000 visitors monthly, it is also recognized as the number one resource for our town. Problem solved!

Seldovia Village Tribe Website

Seldovia Village Tribe prioritizes providing services and supports for the people of the Kachemak Bay area.

In 2018 they put out a request for proposals to redesign all three of their websites. As a normal part of our process, we spend time researching our potential clients, and we were so impressed by the work the Seldovia Village Tribe were doing for their community, we knew right away we wanted a chance to work with them! Luckily for us, they liked our proposal.

The team designed three websites that have a similar feel in terms of layouts, imagery, design and typography, but that function differently from one another to address the unique needs of the visitors for each one.

Straight to the Plate Website

The Kramer family has a mission; to serve high quality, healthy, sustainable, and fresh wild-caught Alaskan salmon straight to your plate, so they set up a Community Supported Fishery (CSF).

This means they presell shares of their catch to customers, allowing them to bypass the dominating global supply chains and keep their process small and sustainable.

To directly market their catch, they needed an effective website to educate customers on their philosophy and business model and also give them an easy way to order. OTC designed a beautiful, clean, and functional website for the Kramers. Customers can now easily place an order for salmon straight from the website.

Uncle Herbs Website

Uncle Herb’s is committed to being Alaska’s finest Cannabis destination, providing the consistency and quality customers deserve and desire in a casual, comfortable space.

Owner, Aaron, first contacted OTC in the early days of the COVID 19 Pandemic. He had set up a 3rd party online menu and ordering service with Dutchie for his Anchorage store and needed it integrated into his site ASAP. The team jumped onto it straight away and had it sorted within days. This meant his business could respond to changing COVID restrictions by offering online ordering and curbside pickup.

The next step was to polish and refine their existing website. They were in the process of expanding the business from one store to three so the website update needed to include a design to easily show contact & menu/ordering information for all three stores.

We redesigned the main page to organize the information in a way that was easy for users to follow and made separate integrated menu pages for the two new stores. We also changed out the fonts and added new better quality images to make the website look cleaner and more professional.

John Vliet Website

John Vliet was in need of a website that would make it easy for his potential sitters to learn a little about him and set up an appointment.

The OTC team worked with him to find the best scheduling tool for his needs, and then we seamlessly embedded it into his website. We went with Acuity Scheduling, which enables John to easily manage his appointments and enables clients to schedule and process payments easily.

Kristen Marchus-Hemstad Website

Kristen had seen a website we made for fellow medium, Denise Gallup, in late 2017, and decided OTC might be a good fit for her.

Her first priority was moving her existing site off her old, outdated hosting account, so the team organized and facilitated a move to WP Engine.

Once that was done, we set to work planning, designing and making a fresh new website with lots of white space while using Kristen’s favorite blue tones as highlight colors. She was looking for a site with a “calm feel.” We integrated an online booking service and a small online store.

Kristen continues to develop her website with OTC and has plans in the near future to add online classes.
