Girdwood.com Website

The OTC team thinks their home town of Girdwood, Alaska is a pretty special place. Sadly, until a few years ago, there wasn’t a single online presence that showcased our beloved town and provided useful information to residents and potential visitors.

Having identified the need for a website for all things Girdwood, we got together with a few like-minded individuals to design one. The vision was for a go-to resource that would serve locals and visitors alike.

Today, not only is girdwood.com number one in Google with a growing total of over 4000 visitors monthly, it is also recognized as the number one resource for our town. Problem solved!

Seldovia Village Tribe Website

Seldovia Village Tribe prioritizes providing services and supports for the people of the Kachemak Bay area.

In 2018 they put out a request for proposals to redesign all three of their websites. As a normal part of our process, we spend time researching our potential clients, and we were so impressed by the work the Seldovia Village Tribe were doing for their community, we knew right away we wanted a chance to work with them! Luckily for us, they liked our proposal.

The team designed three websites that have a similar feel in terms of layouts, imagery, design and typography, but that function differently from one another to address the unique needs of the visitors for each one.

Straight to the Plate Website

The Kramer family has a mission; to serve high quality, healthy, sustainable, and fresh wild-caught Alaskan salmon straight to your plate, so they set up a Community Supported Fishery (CSF).

This means they presell shares of their catch to customers, allowing them to bypass the dominating global supply chains and keep their process small and sustainable.

To directly market their catch, they needed an effective website to educate customers on their philosophy and business model and also give them an easy way to order. OTC designed a beautiful, clean, and functional website for the Kramers. Customers can now easily place an order for salmon straight from the website.

Kristen Marchus-Hemstad Website

Kristen had seen a website we made for fellow medium, Denise Gallup, in late 2017, and decided OTC might be a good fit for her.

Her first priority was moving her existing site off her old, outdated hosting account, so the team organized and facilitated a move to WP Engine.

Once that was done, we set to work planning, designing and making a fresh new website with lots of white space while using Kristen’s favorite blue tones as highlight colors. She was looking for a site with a “calm feel.” We integrated an online booking service and a small online store.

Kristen continues to develop her website with OTC and has plans in the near future to add online classes.

Alaska Birch Syrup Photo Shoot & Website

In the small, quirky town of Talkeetna, resides an all Alaskan gift shop known for their birch syrup, functional aesthetic art, and tasty treats, such as locally made ice cream! Dulce and Michael East have been harvesting birch syrup in Alaska since 1990, and they now sell it online and in gift shops around Alaska.

Dulce and Michael contacted OTC in 2017, ready to take their self-built, small Yahoo e-commerce store to the next level. We worked with their team to rebuild and reorganize their store. It now offers their customers a clean, simple, and secure online shopping experience while keeping the Easts’ personal and unique feel.

The website makeover included new photos of all the products and of the Taste & Tour giftshop. Our photography department, Bacon & Cheese Productions, organized, staged, and photographed all 57 of their products.

Chair 5 Website

Chair 5 is an iconic bar and restaurant based right here in our little hometown of Girdwood, Alaska. They are also one of our longest-standing clients.

OTC first made a website for Spike back in 2009 and have been constantly tweaking and adding to it ever since.

Our most recent project in 2019 was to set up a merchandise range on Amazon using logos we designed. We then integrated the range into his website so customers can easily find and purchase online.
