A Taste of Alaska Website

A Taste of Alaska Lodge sits on 280 acres of land that is drenched in natural beauty and family history, which spans three generations. It is a treat for anyone looking for a true Alaskan experience.

Owner Kory had an existing website which had become out of date and wasn’t mobile-friendly. He approached the team at OTC to build him a new one. Kory provided many stunning photos that enabled us to design a large format, full-width website that showcases his truly unique family lodge.

A large percentage of Kory’s clientele are German and Japanese, so we engaged the relevant translators and using WPML software, published the entire website in not just one, but three languages.

  • Donation page  – One time or monthly options
  • Online forms
  • Clean transition and integration of third-party platforms (Ultracamp)
  • Template pages that could easily be changed in-house, each year

1st Alaska Tours Website

Husband and wife team, Ralf and Maggie Dubrovolny run 1st Alaska Tours in Fairbanks, Alaska. They offer different tours in the summer and winter months and a large proportion of their clients are visitors from Germany and China.

To make their website the most useful it could be to their business, OTC made 3 versions, one in English, one translated to German, and one translated to Chinese. We also made two versions of their Index page, one for summer tours and one for winter. We change these out seasonally for them so the website is always current.

Ted Stevens Foundation Website

Established in 2001, the mission of the Ted Stevens Foundation is to recognize the late Senator Ted Stevens’ career and honor his legacy of public service by working to ensure a stable and vibrant Alaska for future generations.

Unhappy with the website they had, foundation staff contacted OTC to see if we could make them a new website that not only celebrated the life and achievements of Senator Stevens but also informed people about the foundation and the work they do.

Following their brief, we completely re-organized the navigation, used light backgrounds and corporate colors throughout, and included many more prominent photos of the late Senator Stevens. The new website has a light, clean, modern design and documents the many contributions and achievements of Senator Stevens, as well as being informative about the foundation and what their objectives are.

Z Architects Website

Z-Architects is one of the top architects in Alaska. In the Girdwood Valley, it is hard not to see a commercial building, new house, or renovation that has been designed by them.

They had an amazing looking website that was old, outdated and falling apart behind the scenes. They were no longer able to add any new projects to their portfolio and things had started to break.

OTC whiz developer, Liz, rebuilt their website on a new stable foundation that works great on all devices. She made a few needed tweaks and updates, but for the most part, kept the vibe and style of the old website.

The new website is super easy for Z-Architect’s staff to update and add all their new jobs to the portfolio. The work has also given them a boost in search rankings. Win, win!

Southeast Exposure Website

Another long-time client, Southeast Exposure, runs sea kayaking tours, zodiac tours  & zipline adventures in Ketchikan, Alaska.

In 2015 they asked us to redesign and rebuild their website on a new mobile-friendly platform. They also wanted customers to be able to easily book their chosen activities online, whether they were on an inbound cruise ship or an independent traveler.

We made them a clean, modern website and provided clear links for cruise ship passengers to enable them to book through their relevant cruise line.

For independent travelers we set them up a 3rd party online booking system and integrated it with their website, so all those clientele have to do is click a button to get to straight to the booking screen.
